The synopsis
Aristotle (384–322 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher and scientist who wrote on a vast range of subjects, including physics, metaphysics, ethics, politics, biology, and logic. He was a student of Plato and the teacher of Alexander the Great. His writings formed the basis of much of Western philosophy and science for centuries. Aristotle's scientific work was based on observation and empirical evidence, and he developed a system of classification that was influential for many centuries. His ethical and political works are still widely studied today.
