The synopsis
Pyotr Lavrovich Lavrov was a prominent Russian theorist of narodism, philosopher, publicist, revolutionary, sociologist, and historian. Born into a military family, he initially pursued a career in the military and later became a professor. Lavrov joined the revolutionary movement in 1862 and, after being arrested and exiled, fled abroad. He lived mostly in Paris, becoming involved with socialist movements and founding the journal *Vperyod!*. Lavrov's ideas emphasized the unique historical development of Russia and the need to integrate the peasant population into socialist revolution. He believed the intelligentsia had a crucial role in preparing the masses for this change. His work, including 'Historical Letters', significantly influenced revolutionary activity in Russia. Lavrov died in Paris in 1900.
