He also serves as a faculty advisor for the Ken Kennedy Institute. Vardi's research interests are primarily in the applications of logic to computer science. This includes areas such as database theory, finite model theory, knowledge representation in multi-agent systems, and computer-aided verification and reasoning. He is particularly recognized for his expertise in model checking, constraint satisfaction, database theory, common knowledge in logic, and theoretical computer science. Vardi has an extensive publication record, with over 700 technical papers to his name, and has co-authored several books, including "Reasoning About Knowledge" and "Finite Model Theory and Its Applications." He has also held significant editorial roles, serving as senior editor and former editor-in-chief of "Communications of the ACM." His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the Gödel Prize, the Knuth Prize, the Paris Kanellakis Award, and honorary doctorates from eight universities.
