The synopsis
Mele Perîşan, whose birth name was Mohammad Abulqasim, was born in 1356 and died in 1431. He was a prominent Kurdish poet who primarily wrote in the Gorani language. His most significant work, "Parishan-nama," is notable for being considered the oldest known text in the Gorani language and for its inclusion of Hurufist propaganda, making it the sole known Hurufist text in Kurdish. In addition to his religious and philosophical works, Perîşan also composed popular drinking songs in Kurdish that gained popularity among both Kurds and Iranians. His religious inclinations were deeply ingrained in his poetry; he was Shia and a follower of Hurufism. He possessed a linguistic repertoire that included Kurdish, Arabic, Persian, and Turkish. While specific details about his life are scarce, it is plausible that he was born in Dinavar and belonged to the Ghiasvand tribe. The Dinavar region appears to have been his primary place of residence throughout his life. His admiration for figures like Rabia of Basra and her views on halal are also evident in his writings. Manuscripts of his poetry are preserved in various libraries internationally, including those in Iran and Germany. The "Parishan-nama" itself has been printed multiple times since its initial publication in Kermanshah in 1916. The work features a syllabic meter, a common characteristic of Gorani poetry.
