The synopsis
Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986) was an Indian spiritual figure, speaker, and writer. Initially groomed by the Theosophical Society to be the World Teacher, he broke away in 1929, disbanding the Order of the Star in the East. He spent the rest of his life traveling the world, speaking to groups and individuals, advocating for a radical transformation of humankind. Krishnamurti asserted that "truth is a pathless land" and advised against following any doctrine, guru, or authority, including himself. He emphasized self-observation and choiceless awareness as the path to true meditation and inner freedom. His ideas gained wider recognition after the publication of *The First and Last Freedom* in 1954. Supporters continue to oversee schools based on his educational philosophy and distribute his extensive body of work.
