Harry Brighouse

Harry Brighouse is a British political philosopher currently based at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His academic work primarily focuses on moral philosophy and the intricate connections between education and liberalism. A particularly significant contribution to his field is his book, *Family Values: The Ethics of Parent-Child Relationships*, co-authored with Adam Swift. This work is widely regarded as a seminal text in the moral philosophy of the family. Brighouse is also recognized for his active engagement in public discourse concerning education and liberalism, with his views having been featured in prominent publications such as The Independent, The Guardian, and the New Statesman. He completed his undergraduate studies with a B.A. from King's College London and subsequently earned a PhD in philosophy from the University of Southern California, where he was a student of Barbara Herman. Brighouse is the son of Tim Brighouse, a former commissioner of schools for London. He is also associated with the Crooked Timber group blog.
