The synopsis
Clark Davis Adams (July 23, 1969 – May 21, 2007) was a prominent American freethought leader and activist. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Adams attended Catholic school in his youth but became skeptical of religious teachings. He embraced atheism in college after reading materials from American Atheists. Adams became actively involved in the freethought community, joining organizations like the Alabama Freethought Association and the Atlanta Freethought Society. He was a key organizer of the "Lollapalooza of Freethought" and moderated the newsgroup alt.atheism.moderated. For many years, he served on the board of Internet Infidels, holding positions such as public relations director and president. Adams was also a proponent of the Secular Student Alliance and co-founded the Secular Coalition for America. In his local community, he established the Las Vegas Freethought Society. Adams was recognized in Warren Allen Smith's book, *Who's Who in Hell*. He died by suicide in May 2007, notably postponing his death to attend a Doug Stanhope show.
