The synopsis

Christopher John Fardo Williams (31 December 1930 – 25 March 1997) was a British philosopher. His areas of interest were philosophical logic, on which topic he did most of his original work, and ancient philosophy, as an editor and translator. Williams was born in Walsall and educated at Shrewsbury School and Balliol College, Oxford. He developed a convert to Roman Catholicism and planned to join the Benedictine Order but was affected by polio. He then became an academic philosopher, lecturing at the University of Hull before moving to Bristol. He is known for his analytical approach to concepts like existence, truth, and identity, summarized in his trilogy of books: 'What is Truth?', 'What is Existence?', and 'What is Identity?'. He also translated and edited works on ancient philosophy.
