The synopsis
Anna Nikolaevna Schmidt was a Russian journalist and author of religious and mystical works, born on August 11, 1851, in Nizhny Novgorod. Despite lacking systematic education, she taught French and worked as a translator and journalist. Schmidt developed a Gnostic system based on personal mystical revelations, drawing parallels to Jakob Böhme. Her teachings were highly regarded by philosopher Sergei Bulgakov, who noted their similarity to Kabbalah. She corresponded with prominent figures like Alexander Blok and was esteemed by Nikolai Berdyaev. In 1900, she sent a detailed letter to Vladimir Solovyov outlining her divine revelations. Her notable work, 'The Third Testament,' presented an unorthodox view of the Trinity, including a divine Daughter, and suggested Solovyov's reincarnation. Schmidt died on August 18, 1905, in Moscow.
