The synopsis

Acusilaus, also known as Acusilas, Acousileos, or Akousilaos, was an ancient Greek logographer and mythographer from Argos. He lived in the latter half of the 6th century BC. His work is primarily known through fragments and summaries, with three books of his genealogies being referenced. These genealogies are largely considered a prose adaptation of Hesiod's work. Acusilaus himself claimed that some of his information came from bronze tablets discovered in his garden, a source that has been viewed with suspicion by modern commentators. He wrote in the Ionic dialect. Plato is the earliest known writer to mention Acusilaus. Later works attributed to Acusilaus are considered spurious. He is sometimes counted among the Seven Sages of Greece.
